the fun continues...
we arrived in downtown around 1100, shopped around (finally got ichigo from last year), and lined up for h&mc signing. they were soooooooo nice! we got to meet all of them and shake their hands. i exchanged words with a couple of em. that was kool. maki's quite the cutie. sassy was the most fan-friendly. he would stick out his tongue and pose for us. mACKAz and meg were chillin. yusuke was nice too. they totally rock for #1 putting on a slammin show last night and #2 showing love to the fans. i hope they continue to succeed. here's a pic of maki posing for me =]

i got sassy to flash his metallica shirt

and here's my autographed poster

and finally kazuto's pics got signed =O

all the busy-ness lately hasn't stressed me much because i've had this entire weekend to look forward to, and my weekend started early =] first thing we did was pick up food from wendy's and exxon. we had quite the dramastic experience at the gas station with icee spillage and chili...hahahaa =P
[ interesting convo w/ matt wertz at the end ]

when we got there, carol and jennifer found friends right up in the front. being the good buddies that they are, they came back to bring us up there. =]

the opening act was mat kearney (left). his voice reminded me of the lead from coldplay. since we showed up late, we didn't hear many of his songs. but it's all good cuz nuggets, hot dogs, burgers, fries, nachos, icee's filled us up pretty good. *note: jalepenos were HOT

they were switching sets btwn matts, so we took a moment to take a group pic. check out them gangstas in the back....at a matt wertz concert hahahaha

matt wertz started out on the electric. i thought it'd be a really mellowed out concert...

...he and his band ended up rockin the house. he has a really nice voice. not sure quite how to describe it, but he has a way of getting the crowd pumped up.

we stuck around afterwards and caught the keyboardist? keyist? keyboard player dude? i like the sound he brought to the songs. the keyboard had an old church organ sound to it, but he played it with a modern style.

ppL started mobbing to one area, and it happened to be mat kearney. he's a kool down-to-earth guy.

carol was dying to take a pic with the electric guitarist, but he was so busy trying to pack up stuff cuz they had to leave. he was gracious enough to stop and take pics with us when he was done packing. what's with jennifer's arm? *scratches head*

oh right, so i met this other dude named matt too. i got to ask "my question". scroll to the end of these pics to read about it.

we changed our original plans (bj's) to tap house cuz we were thirsty. does anyone remember the drink carol ordered for jennifer? good thing i caught it on video cuz it tasted so good. i gotta remember to get it next time. =]

autographed ticket of matt wertz on the front

autographed ticket of mat kearney on the back (i hope he wasn't offended ><)

ok storytime =D
first of all, he mentioned during the concert that he visited africa. he was trying to encourage ppL to consider donating to a just cause for the invisible children. when we met him, i mentioned to him that michelle, jennifer, and i are going to kenya this summer. i think he was pretty excited to hear about that. i hope he remembers us when i email him.

ok here's the kool part. alright so, he stated on his website that he would've become a shoe designer had he not become a musician. so of course, i told myself that i'd ask him about shoes if i ever met him. so finally after taking pics, i asked him which his favorite shoe is. he stood there and thought for a few minutes and then said, "jordan 3...5....no 3....no 5!" can you believe it? he likes the jordan V's!!! soooo i decided to inform him that the 5's are actually being re-released this year. he was pretty psyched about that. then i told him that i worked for active too, so i could hook him up with jordans later on. so he told me to email him about the release dates and stuff. talk about a great conversation =] oh btw, he was wearing some ol skool cortez (with the huge check) tonight. the bassist had on some blazers. i get the feeling a couple of the guys in the band are shoeheads.

last thing about the evening. during the drive home, we popped in the bsb greatest hits cd. i gotta say that was the kraziest part of the evening. we rolled down the windows and sung like insaniacs. i caught a guy sitting in the car next to us smiling but trying not to stare...hahahaa...good times! and carol...please learn the words before you scream out random verses....hehee

today was quite the full day...actually it's not even over. i'd have to say the latter part of the day was most definitely the best part. it's nice sometimes to do the simple things in life...like spend time with loved ones. there doesn't necessarily have to be a planned activity or particular mission to accomplish. but i suppose while you're walkin around you might as well look for stuff....like this...

i FINALLY found worthy presentations for these paintings. lately i've been too busy to get it done but with the help of pandemonium, they now have a home =]

china to korea to alaska to kentucky to san antonio to here. they came in a nice box similar to the lebron box. it was also lined with suede. the shoes also came in a suede bag. the whole packaging was just done up real nice. that's gotta be one of the things nike id did right. it's refreshing to know that they still take pride in their quality...unlike all those jordan retros =P

i find myself shifting around alot while i sleep. the other day i found a cut on my face. few weeks ago, my necklace came off, and that thing has a metal buckle. this week the back of my ear was hurting from the earring. i wonder what i'm dreaming about. one time i woke up happy. one time i woke up upset. but i couldn't recall what the dreams were =\ ah well, i guess that's for the better. have you ever tried to control your dreams? like right before you go to bed, you lay there thinking about something in particular JUST so you'd end up dreaming about it =]

wow i'm getting a packaged shipped to me from china. it's kinda fun tracking it. right now it's in korea =]

oh yea, here's a clearer pic of what i showed before. it turns out that these things weigh a ton...sigh. only sign of greatness was found in the two's. but still i gotta wear em to truly know what's going on there.

today for the first time, i heard a different perspective on the significance of good friday. every year around this time we're reminded of the crucifixion of christ, and the pain and price he paid for our sins. but an interesting question was posed tonight. we all know the cost of the cross to christ (the son), but have you ever stopped to think what the cost of the cross was to God (the father). the speaker shared insight on the physical, emotional, and spiritual pain that God must've endured from the torture and death of christ. and by studying that aspect of truth, i have gained a better understanding of how much God really loves us. we're so used to seeing the cross everywhere we go that it has lost its significance in our minds. in some ways, it has just become the "cross next door". when you look at a cross, what do you think of? i hope you don't just view it as a symbol of christ. i hope the words love and sacrifice come to mind above all else. don't let it be just knowledge that you've known your entire life.

on a completely different note, we were blessed to have worship lead by bethany dillon and shane&shane. at first i was blown away by barnard's voice and insane guitar skills, but then i really started to enjoy everett's harmonizing. and then i started to notice how the drummer always faced down while drumming...not sure why...maybe he was concentrating. then there was the electric player...mad skills...he always looked like he was chillin. i gotta say it does feel awkward to hold a camera up when most of your being would rather join in worship. so i put it down and picked it back up at the very end. oh yea, i did happen to catch a pic with barnard before anything started...

any thoughts?

wednesday. april o5 2oo6
i wonder why darkness gets such a bad rap. ppL always associate evil with darkness. i actually find darkness to be rather peaceful. and no it's not because of my current state. i've always enjoyed dark more than light. it's easier on the eyes. it feels kooler temperature-wise. and i like the stillness.

long time ago, i rode the space mountain rollercoaster in disney world. and if you've ridden it before, you know the entire ride is indoors and in the dark. even though there are alot of turns and dips, for some reason it felt really still to me.

youll probably think i'm weird for saying this, but sometimes i walk around my house in the dark. it's nice and quiet. if i feel like it, i'll even choose to sit somewhere randomly. and btw, it's not the same as closing your eyes....cuz i can still see in the dark.

^pointless post (then again, aren't they all?)

FINALLY an update! ok for those who don't know, i had laser eye surgery last thursday. since then, it's been tough keeping my eyes open. and even when i do open them, it's still kinda blurry. right now, i'm able to update cuz i have notepad on giganto font =P anywayz, it's been an interesting experience.

i've been spending of my time laying in bed. it bugs cuz my body's not really tired. it wants to move around, but my eyes limit me from tons of stuff. for instance, i'm rarely able to use the comp since the monitors emit light....much like the SUN which is not exactly LIGHT itself *ahem* referring to the 1st and 4th day (thanx to joey the physics genius, my thoughts were confirmed /no1) ok i totally went off on a tangent there huh?

oh right, stuff i can't do. so without the comp, i can't work on website stuff. i can't read megatokyo, manga, and aim msgs. no tv or movies...however i was able to listen to harry potter. but i had to peak to see the asian girl just so i could read the subtitles. i couldn't understand what she said the first time i saw it...weirdo accent. early on and sometimes now, light really hurts my eyes. so one time i ate lunch in the bathroom because it's the only room in the house with no windows...yea i know...weirdo. ok it's getting hard to stare at the screen now, so imma stop. oh btw, huge congrats to sum-kay for getting into northwestern...GO WILDCATS!!!...hard work pays off =]
