today began early for me. i dropped my brother off at 430am. this may be the last time i see him till next summer. one year isn't forever, but it sure felt like it while saying farewell to him. i think it caught me off-guard because i didn't realize that i wouldn't get to play ball with him today...and i won't get to hear him play guitar for awhile...and i won't get to see him sitting at the computer when i pass his room on the way to the bathroom anymore. i know that last one doesn't make a whole lotta sense, but it's something familiar to me. it'll be difficult to part from that. i didn't expect tears while writing this, so imma stop now.
to stanley: i know you'll do big things. go for it man!

this past week has gone by fast. mon-fri we had camp challenge...which was an awesome experience! to all the new believers, don't stop there. to those who learned something new, don't let the world make you forget. we have many friends who are heading in the wrong direction. what're you gonna do about it?
as soon as we got back, we celebrated my brother's 24th bday at TGIF and D&B's. we totalled about 3000 tickets! =O talk about krazy. all this time, i had no idea that watching a wheel spin around with a ball in it could give you so many tickets.
today we ate lunch at kim son with my uncle and his family. that place is huge. it reminds me of a hotel ballroom. after lunch, i spent the rest of the day taking care of kenya stuff. oh geez...i can't believe i'm leaving on thursday. things are beginning to move really fast now.

so what's been going on with me? if i'm posting less and less, it usually means i've gotten really busy or there's just waaaaaaay too much stuff on my mind. in this case, it's a combination of both. for those who don't know, i'm leaving for kenya in less than a month to be a missionary teacher. most likely i'll be teaching pre-algebra, algebra, and a 7th-8th grade boys bible class. that's not set in stone yet, but i'll let you know if it changes. i plan on committing to at least one school year, so you can imagine all the things that are going on in my head. most likely i'll post a more in-depth explanation of all that in the future. for now, i'll just give you this link to the school to see what's going on there. due to its ghettoness, maybe i'll volunteer to redo the layout.
West Nairobi School
on a completely different note, i had a chance to checkout the houston symphony perform video games live on friday night. they showed video games on that big screen while the orchestra and choir performed theme songs and medleys to popular video games from ol skool to new. it was awesome!

alot of things going on...all of which strangely enough have nothing to do with today's celebration...
( i'm gonna ramble on purpose for all who dread my longwindedness )
i've been riding a rollercoaster of emotions since coming back from kenya. i believe God is stirring my heart....which means satan is nearby. i guess i'll post in more detail about all that when i come to some conclusion.
hmm what else? oh right world cup was kinda funny for me today. btw, it was germany v italy for you n00bs out there. i came back from lunch with food coma desperately trying to stay awake while watching the match. my eyes briefly opened to see the score 0-0 through regulation, overtime, and double overtime. i was kinda waiting for the penalty kicks to come next, so i sat up on the couch near the last five minutes. next thing you know...blam! italy scores! shortly after, they score again with two minutes left!!! =O as always, i yell like a madman when they score in football. it was great. good thing i woke up for that.
since i've been liking football more and more due to my experience in kenya and the world cup, i figured why not look for a football anime. and what do you know? they have one called Whistle! i've watched the first few eps, and i like it so far. as beck sparked my interest in electric guitar, whistle is doing the same to me for football.

in my sad attempt to transition all these paragraphs, i will further mention that i've been watching some interesting movies lately. while everyone is in the theaters watching superman, i'm at home watching a movie called green street hooligans. it came out in 2005, but i just got a hold of it now. if you've seen it before, you know it has something to do with football and english pride. it's definitely a guy movie with violence and all. it was fun to watch. you know what else was fun to watch? another film called kiss kiss bang bang with robert downey jr. and val kilmer. talk about random and hilarious. the film moves really fast if you're not rdy for it. there were some moments when you just die laughing cuz you can't believe it actually happened.

since i'm on the topic of movies, i'll mention a video i came across. wayne and his roommate played a tyrone wells song called no good without you which is posted on youtube. i've never heard of mr. wells, but i'm beginning to like his music. oh right, there was a song on the GSH soundtrack that i like called one blood by terence jay. oh wow, i actually tied that movie back into this.

did i say youtube earlier? ok so when that comes to mind, i think of the youtube addict....who is also a neopets addict. and i can see why. some of the games on there are pretty fun. so sometimes i'll play those games to get my mind off things. i find it strange how i'm so challenged by such silly games.

speaking of games, we don't have a sports for charity game this week, so see you fans next week! thanx for all the support. i hope to see painted faces in our team colors next time. btw, the team colors are black and white...hahahaa.
