what an interesting day.
the boston celtics acquire kevin garnett to join paul pierce and ray allen.
oops false alarm...they're coming very close to signing KG. it's only a matter of time now.

and our beloved houston's own marvin zindler passes away. "slime in the ice machine!"

my brother turned a quarter of a century on saturday. i dunno about all of you, but here's how we do birthdays around here. first, the gift...it must be nothing less than awesome. how do you define awesome you might say? obviously, it must be unexpected. it also must be something that can entertain the general public for a few hours. it must also be one of those things you can put away for years and STILL entertain everyone when you bust it back out. so i present to you the Optimus Prime voice-changing mask!!! (if you wanna hear the actual voice-changing, check out my videos on facebook.)

second, cake in the face...in the past, smearing icing on someone's face would suffice. but sometimes you just gotta go big. what do you mean by big steven? well, you gotta plan these things out. so of course, you buy two cakes. one to eat, and one to cause major impact on one's face. (once again, if you want to see major impact, facebook.)

third, you gotta take the bday kid to a fun place. around here, d&b's is the easiest choice until we discover other places. it provides the ever-so-great memories of ol skool games like streetfighter 2...

...to racing games that stanley has memorized the secret routes to...

...to the most addicting game of all time.

it started with one man and then became...

...which eventually resulted in...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROTHER!!!

i spent thursday till sunday in dallas visiting family. it was a sweet, sweet time. in addition to loving on my cousins' kids as i planned on, i also had the opportunity to spend valuable time conversing with the adults. i'm definitely a verbal processor, so it was beneficial for me to get all that stuff out. i love this family, so it was easy for me to open up the vault of madness. ok enough wordage, i know you just wanna see pictures.

ansley and james are soooooooooo cute...*ahem*...i mean awesome!

so what lies ahead for steven before he relocates again? i think maintaining a perfect balance between reflecting on the future and living in the moment is important for me to do. it's a nice reminder realizing that God is the same now and then.
oh yea later today, there was a deal for racing go karts $10 per race. it's usually $18, so comparatively it was a good deal. seriously, there's no telling what lies ahead for me. literally, one day i'll be in dallas spending time with family i haven't seen in 10 months, and the next day i'll be driving a go kart back in houston.

and then we went and got buffalo wings afterwards. there are sooooooo many sauces!

today felt pretty long. we had service as usual in the morning. for lunch, we went out to chili's. afterwards, we went back to church to hang out. around 5:00pm, we had a bball game. we won 84-50 i think. yea it was fun finally getting some chemistry going on the court. defense is the best offense. right after the game, we drove out to lakewood church because Hillsong United had a concert. man it was packed!!! when you hold a free concert, expect a ton of people to show up, especially if you're from australia. jeremy and i lucked out and got good seats near the stage.

afterwards, my brother spotted paul baloche. it was crazy to run into him at the hillsong concert. in case you don't already know, he's the songwriter of "Open The Eyes Of My Heart" and "Above All". talk about monumental! i can't imagine being the writer of a song that is being sung in almost every christian church. he's a cool guy. he's totally down to earth. i love meeting humble people whose humbleness is majorly tested. they're definitely admirable.

i'm one for collecting random stuff and calling them memorabilia. so i grabbed a sign off the door. also after the concert, i went to the stage to see if there's any other random stuff lying around. i always look for the song list that bands often leave behind. so i got that too.

afterwards, we went to IHOP. we've come to the conclusion that Denny's pwns IHOP. the food was so-so, and it felt expensive to me. oh well, the day is now over. i wonder what adventures tomorrow holds.

we have quite a few new teachers joining our staff this upcoming school year. i anticipate the guy on the far right wearing the striped shirt will help the others exercise patience this year. if that doesn't work out, uhhh....God bless em! =]
alright so, i took WAY too many pictures these past two weeks at PFO. it's hard to select good pics that would completely capture the entire experience...oh the brainwork involved for a peanut. i'll just sum it all up by admitting that i wasn't looking forward to spending two weeks of my precious summer with complete strangers. by the 2nd week, i didn't want to leave all the new friendships i had made. i haven't been able to put into words why i feel the way i do. the best way i can describe it is...there was a genuine love for one another all around. we sympathize with each other's struggles and look forward to serving God together across the world. God's got big things planned for c/o 2007!
