it's gametime! the accreditation team is coming through this week. for those of you who don't know, our school has been trying to get all the proper documents and "stuff" prepared for the past 2 years. we are trying to get WNS accredited, so we'll be considered a legitimate school. it's also important in giving credit to our graduates in order for them to go off to colleges/universities. the team of three will be officially observing our school this week on wed, thurs, and fri. please pray for the teachers and staff. it's gettin' all crazy around here. some people are nervous. some people are overcompensating. and me...well you know me. this week is like any other week. the acsi team is here to see if we teach the way we say we teach. oh yea, big thank you to everyone who's been working on this since we started. most of them aren't teaching here anymore, but they deserve as much credit as we do.
on a completely different note, someone wanna send me new episodes from this season of "the office" and "heroes" and any other awesome shows??? =]

let's take a short commercial break from our regularly scheduled program to observe that stuff we call "news". so i hear a new president was elected. i hear he's half kenyan. he didn't visit his so-called home country for the first time till the age of 27. i wonder how much kenya matters to him. i can say this b/c i'm chinese, and my parents are from HK. i can't honestly say that the concerns of HK are a big priority to me compared to the ones in the states. so i'm curious to see how much barry will contribute to his half-home country. why do i bring this up as the topic of the day? well for those of you who have lived here in kenya, you know how much pride they have for their countrymen. some may be geniunely happy for the man. some take alot of pride in being able to say that a kenyan will be the next U.S president. some hope for barry to lend a hand in the developement of this country. if this last one is true, i get the feeling its gonna somehow affect me waaaaaay over here in east africa. we'll see.
oh yea, i also wanted to give you an update on how the election has already affected this country. president kibaki announced today that tomorrow (thursday) will be a public holiday due to barry's victory. it's a crazy place we live in over here. you can read about it here:
DAILY NATION
i find this move of celebration to be amusing. i wonder if wichita, kansas has called for a public holiday tomorrow also. better yet, is honolulu calling for a public holiday too? the world should be consistent, right? ok ok i know it probably sounds like i'm anti-bama. that's not necessarily the case here. i'm simply pointing out how this country is reacting to the u.s. presidential election. if you know me, you know my only question is, "what's gonna be open tomorrow? man's gotta eat."
p.s. if you were offended by anything i wrote, meet me at the nakumatt junction parking lot at 6am, and we'll rumble. and if i'm late, get used to it b/c that's how we roll 'round here. be there or be square!

PART IV [[ DAY 2 - Breakfast of Champions ]]

along with affordability, we also chose this room b/c it came with a kitchen. this offers the opportunity to make your own tasty for less than nothing breakfast. seen here is our master chef jo dickson shelling out some scrambled eggs. "shelling out"...get it? hahaha gosh steven shuttup! seriously i apologize on behalf of that guy.

and of course if there is someone cooking, you're sure to find others sitting around doing nothing. oh don't get me wrong. i was sitting there taking pictures and contributing absolutely nothing to the feast preparations. those who know me well aren't the least bit surprised by that. kudos to you! hmm what ever happened to kudos bars? i remember really liking those when i was kid, especially the chocolate covered ones. somehow our parents tricked us into eating granola. good job mom&dad! wait how did i get to this point? oh right...bums...

here were two items on the menu that i find particularly funny b/c both of which cause my body to do weird things. first up, we have the infamous mango in all its delicious, mouth-itching glory. i bet you thought i was gonna say mouth-watering, huh? not for me! stupid mangos! i wish you didn't taste good.

next up, we have two reasons to laugh at this. for starters, milk in a bag is just weird. any liquid in a bag is just weird. i'm sure those who have grown up using these will argue its convenience or some crap, but i for one don't wanna be in fear of spillage when pouring it. also, how do you store this for later? do you put a chip-clip on it and write "to be continued" on the bag? the second reason you shall laugh is because of steven's lactose intoleranceness. yes, i love ice cream. yes, chai tea is better with milk. so i do make exceptions occasionally and just go for it. however...oh however...there will be consequences. it usually comes in the form of a noise that makes us all immaturely laugh, especially when it comes out of 60 or older adults with every step they take, or it is a release of a putrid odor that has been slowly deteriorating the ozone layer and sends you running for fresh air. some would cringe at these foul gestures, but today you will laugh b/c you are imagining me farting in action. ok enough. women and children can now safely read the remainder of this post.

seen here is our master chef jo dixon laying down some bread. yes kids, there was a time before toasters were invented. but daddy, how do you get it all nicely toasted on both sides? well kids, there's this invention called a spatula that you use to "flip" the bread. well golly gee whiz, that's just downright amazing!

seen here is our master chef joel dixon from spain posing with a spatula in a kitchen located somewhere in mombasa, kenya wearing a houston dynamo jersey? umm yea, i didn't know we had a soccer team in houston. are we any good? and what the heck is a "dynamo"? then again, our football team is called the houston texans. way to go guys!

that there is just some beautiful-looking toast. you can totally taste that. oh don't deny it. stare at it intently. you're gonna go make some toast right now, huh? you're probably gonna spread some butter on it too. personally i like putting peanut butter on toast while it's still warm. that way the peanut butter melts alittle. Mmmm now i'm hungry. look what you did!

here's a picture of me realizing midway through stuffing my face that i need to take a picture of our food. good job to joel, brentan, and amy for making breakfast for us!!! we appreciate your hard work. actually i take that back. who are we kidding? i bet no one has thanked you after the trip for making breakfast. hahaha the truth hurts. wow what's wrong with me? i'm being all crass and mean in this post. it's probably b/c i'm hungry from staring at all this food.

and to bring your appetites to a close for today, i leave you with oreo's new africa-targeted marketing strategy. oreo + milk = yummy. chai tea has milk in it. africans like chai tea. oreo + chai tea = yummy in africa? it could happen. take two and call me in the morning. you'll see...

yup i did it. i managed to write an entire post about one meal of the day. thanks for tuning in! you're sorta awesome!
