i know it's been awhile since i last updated this site. the truth is school has been keeping me busy day after day. it's actually tutoring, bball practices, and away games that soak up all my extra time. aside from experiencing sleep deprivation every night from my lungs fighting to catch a breath in my sleep, i'm doing ok. but don't worry folks (easier said than done, right?) i am taking a steroid nasal spray that's supposed to help with the congestion. i know what you're thinking. steroid nasal...hmmm....so he's gonna have gigantic nose? i think it's supposed to keep some inflammation down. i dunno all the medical jargon. i just know it'll take a few weeks to kick in. oh random thought...i dunno if i ever posted which classes i'm teaching this year. here it is:
1) algebra II
2) monitor 3 students in precal
3) 7th grade computer
4) 8th grade computer
5) 9th grade computer
6) assist in yearbook class
7) 7th-8th boys bible
the bible class was recently added to my list of responsibilities. we will be studying the life of christ. please pray for guidance in making the class interesting for the students. also after school, i coach girls basketball every weekday except thursdays. so far, we have a 3-0 record. i'm proud of the girls for pushing so hard. if i had to think of a couple words to describe our team, i'd say "hustle" and "scrappy". for you ballers out there, you know what i mean. after practice, i also tutor a few students. on mon and wed, i tutor two teenage brothers in all subjects. on tues and sat, i tutor a sudanese girl in a geometry class she's taking online. you probably think i'm crazy for taking up all the tutoring when practice already takes up a fair amount of time outside of school. but when gas is $6/gal, you gotta find the will power to push through some days. alright i originally got on to post about my brother, so let me switch to that.
for those of you who don't already know, stanley has joined a ministry called CTI. he is currently part of a worship band that travels from place to place. i'm pretty sure music isn't all they do. they visit churches and youth ministries giving testimonies along with their worship music. i'm happy for my brother b/c he has always enjoyed playing that guitar, and now he gets to jam with other people who share the same passion. for the past couple of weeks, they've been touring in illinois and iowa i think. soon their team will be heading off to taiwan from sept 26 - oct 23. please pray for my brother and the 14:21 team. not only will it be a new, fun experience for them, but i am sure that God is planning on using them to make His impression on taiwan. if you're interesting in knowing more about their ministry, check out their site at CTI MUSIC MINISTRIES. if you wanna keep up with the 14:21 team and all their events, they have a blog at CTI 14:21. btw if you're wondering what the numbers stand for, this year cti has sent out two teams taking on the verse from Acts 14:21-22. stanley's team is called 14:21, and the other is called 14:22.
